    Getting started

Install FutureBlitz, write and run a program, and see the whole language at a glance.

FutureBlitz is a compiled, general-purpose language. Its code reads like BASIC, with words such as If, For, and End Function, and fb, its command, compiles that code through LLVM into a native executable. This area installs fb, writes a first program, takes a short tour of the language, and shows how a project is laid out and what each of fb’s commands does. After it, you can write, run, and share a small program, and each later area goes deeper into one part of the language.

    Tutorials

    1. Install FutureBlitz Install fb, check that it runs, build a program with it, and set up an editor.
    2. Your first program Write a program in one file, run it, and read what fb says when the code is wrong.
    3. A tour of the language Build a small expense report and meet the language's main parts on the way.
    4. Projects and the fb command Make a package with fb new, then run, test, check, format, document, and build it.

The rules behind this area are in the language reference.
